Clint Curtis Can Win

May 25, 2008, Titusville, FL

PDA-endorsed candidate Clint Curtis, running for Congress in Florida's 24th Congressional District, has been campaigning on a progressive platform for several years. He was endorsed by PDA in the 2006 election, in which he nearly defeated three-term Republican incumbent Tom Feeney. Clint emerged as one of the most dedicated election-integrity advocates in the country today.

Clint is the “whistle-blower” computer programmer who exposed the computer vote flipping scandal in Florida during the 2004 elections. Because of his continued work in election integrity, the state of Florida has abandoned computer voting and returned to paper ballots. The importance of this was evidenced by the 2008 Presidential primary election, where for the first time since 2000 the media-conducted exit polling actually matched the official vote tally.

Early polling placed Clint in a dead heat against Feeney, and far ahead of Feeney among independent voters. With a little help from the Democratic Party, Clint would stand a good chance of capturing this red seat and turning it blue. Instead the DCCC has recruited another one of its multi-millionaire candidates, Susan Kosmos, to oppose him for the nomination. Although Clint's opponent has set new records for fundraising, the majority of the money is coming from out-of-district special interest groups, lobbyists, and party-controlled PAC's. Clint's funds have been raised primarily through small individual donations from Internet and election-integrity activists around the country.

Clint has been shown to be the leading candidate in his race. Recent polling of known 2006 democratic primary voters within his district shows him receiving 62% of the vote, while his Democratic challenger only mustered 18%.

The same 2006 voters also favor Clint in the general election. When compared to the Republican incumbent, Clint received 47% of the votes to the incumbent's 39%.

The Republican incumbent takes a commanding lead in the general election results, when matched up against the DCCC's candidate. The incumbent received 53% and the DCCC “millionaire” received 31%.

Clint can win this election with your help and assistance-the DCCC is undermining his fundraising in hopes of defeating him and securing the nomination for its hand-picked candidate. Visit Clint's website  to learn more and lend your support.
