After a quick trip to Washington D.C. last week, I wanted to take a few minutes to update you on what transpired. But first I want to personally encourage you to become a

While in D.C., I had a chance to meet with
Rep. Robert Wexler. PDA has been supporting Wexler's efforts to advance impeachment and we join with him now to encourage our members of Congress to
sign a letter he has written to his colleagues to pressure the Judiciary Committee to begin hearings.

I also met with Congressional Progressive Co-Chair Rep. Barbara Lee and Rep. Jim McGovern, both PDA board members, to discuss
Lee's new Iraq/Iran legislation.
H.R. 5128 is promising and we will work to see its passage.
In addition I met with Reps. Sheila Jackson-Lee, Ed Markey, Jerry Nadler, and Maurice Hinchey.
On February 1, we released
a statement to the press announcing
two more endorsements for Congressional candidates:
- Ed O'Reilly, who is mounting an insurgency campaign in Massachusetts against former presidential candidate and four term incumbent John Kerry, and
- Dr. Mahdi Ibn-Ziyad in New Jersey's 1st Congressional District against inside-the-beltway corporate Democrat Rob Andrews.
PDA advisory board chair, Mimi Kennedy will be on the ground next week in Maryland's 4th Congressional District to lend her support--and ours--to Donna Edwards. We'll keep you informed of the developments in this bell weather race for progressives.
Today, twenty-three states will go to the polls in the grand-daddy of primary election days--Super Tuesday. As you cast your votes between the two candidates, remember our progressive agenda
and who will be the most likely to embrace it.
