Wayne Powell Wins PDA National Endorsement

Written by  PDA National

On Thursday, December 22, 2011 candidate E. Wayne Powell, challenging Eric Cantor, received the National endorsement from Progressive Democrats of America.

Wayne received the local 7th District local chapter endorsement in October. In addition to a local endorsement, candidates seeking National endorsement must also be endorsed by the state. PDA Virginia emailed a questionnaire to their membership; PDA Virginia voted to endorse Wayne Powell.

Dr. William Ferguson Reid introduced Wayne Powell on the national call. Dr. Reid was the first African-American elected to the Virginia Assembly; Dr. Reid is also one of the founders of the Richmond Crusade for Voters which also endorsed Wayne Powell. Virginia members from Northern Virginia, Central Virginia and Hampton Roads particpated joined the endorsement call.

Congratulations, Wayne.
