“Today, we as a nation commemorate the eleventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.  This anniversary is yet again a sobering moment for our country and a reminder that we must always remember those who perished in this appalling act of violence.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) released the following statement today after the Supreme Court ruled the Affordable Care Act constitutional:

 

Dear Colleague:

I urge you to vote yes on three amendments made in order last night to H.R. 4310, the FY13 Defense Authorization Bill.

“Today the Pentagon previewed a plan to reduce military spending by $6 billion in the 2013 budget request.  I am optimistic that current efforts to address runaway defense spending are headed in the right direction.
