CPC Unveils "The Restore The American Dream for the 99% Act"

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) will hold a press conference Tuesday, Dec. 13, to unveil the Restore the American Dream for the 99% Act. The bill would create more than 5 million jobs and save more than $2 trillion.

This is a comprehensive plan to put America back to work by reversing the failed policies of the past, which the "Super Committee" could not achieve. Other features of the bill include:

• New taxes for millionaires and Wall Street speculators
• A National Infrastructure Bank to invest in America
• Protects and creates opportunities for returning veterans
• Stops subsidies to Big Oil 
• Adds a Public Option to the Affordable Care Act
• Ends the wars and reduces Pentagon waste

The bill also eliminates new spending caps, triggered by the failure of the "Super Committee," because the CPC legislation achieves a larger deficit reduction target than mandated by the Budget Control Act (P.L. 112-25).
