Colorado State News
Vol. 1, No. 6--December 23, 2004
In Colorado, we haven't specifically started forming a statewide caucus, but we have been actively organizing:
Some of us have been involved with an ad hoc group calling ourselves the Mercury Coalition for Honest Elections, which has held two rallies at the State Capitol. Others are involved with Coloradoans for Voting Integrity, working both to investigate the recent election and to promote legislation specifying paper ballots, etc.
A local 527 PAC called Be the Change USA which voted to join PDA as a partner organization will be holding a workshop January 15.
Some members of Be the Change USA and Democracy for Colorado in Denver have scheduled a meeting this week to plan for the upcoming Democratic Party reorganization.
The Progressive Cafe continues to meet weekly in Boulder and in Denver.
Efforts are underway to start a Progressive Democratic Caucus in Jefferson County.
