Pam Paul - long time PDA board member and active participant, organizer and trainer for Root Camp, a grassroots training program run by Grassroots For America in conjunction with Latinos for America recently received the Lecia Swain-Ross award for "outstanding, spirited service to the aims and ideals of the Oklahoma County Democratic Party." An excerpt from the description read by the Oklahoma County Secretary Lynn Green is quoted below.

"Pam originally became involved in local politics through the inspiration and vision Howard Dean had shown for our country and the Democratic Party. She became a meet up host for Democracy for America here in Oklahoma and first began networking with other grassroots activists across the state.

She has organized voter registration events, community service events and has actively reached out to local groups who were previously disenfranchised. Through her collaboration efforts many new voices have been brought into the process. Her networking has continued to grow throughout the country and Pam is currently working on a grassroots initiative called 'Root Camp' (TM) which will eventually provide the training, tools and resources needed to empower local activists from each state within the U.S.

Pam is currently serving as secretary for Grassroots for America and board member of Progressive Democrats of America. Anyone would be hard pressed to find a political activist with such a consistently calm demeanor and willingness to work with all. Pam truly embodies the highest values of respect and consideration for others."
